March 08: Trip to California

I'm delighted to have been asked to teach fiddle at the Stevenson School, Pebble Beach in California this coming summer. My fiddle course will be part of the National Piping Centre's programme held from the 28th June - 3rd July. Click here for more information.

Dec 07: My New Voices Commission

I am currently working on my commission 'Bridging the Gap' for Celtic Connections 2008. It will be performed on the 3rd February @ 1pm in the Strathclyde Suite of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. I'm really delighted to be working with all of these top class musicians: Mhairi Hall (piano), Mike Bryan (guitar), Duncan Lyall (double bass), Iain Copeland (percussion), Aidan O'Rourke (fiddle), Natalie Haas (cello), Anna Wendy Stevenson (violin), Deirdre Morrison (violin), Lydia Whittaker (violin), Mairi Campbell (viola) and Iain Hutchison (viola). Nov 07: Best Scottish Folk Band Nominees!!

Breabach have were nominated for Best Scottish Folk Band in the Scots Trad Music Awards 2007. The Awards Ceremony was held in Fort William on the 1st of Dec. Thanks to all who voted and congratulations to the Old Blind Dogs who clinched the prize. A well deserved win indeed!
