Nomination for The Brightest Path

WOOHOO! I’m extremely happy to report that The Brightest Path has been nominated for Album of the Year in the Scots Trad Music Awards 2014. I know! I was shocked and delighted and am honoured to be a part of such a great event! Obviously I love the album but it is so wonderful to hear that other people have enjoyed listening to it. Thanks again to the fantastic musicians who contributed more than just their playing to the project and of course to co-producer Mattie Foulds. Now, I’m not asking you to go and vote for me – I’m asking you to go and listen to all of the albums and make up your own mind. It is not about winning, it’s about celebrating and promoting Scottish music and I hope you can find the time to vote.

Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony

I am still absolutely buzzing after an amazing night at the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony!! It was such an honour to be playing in the finale, which featured the wonderful Dougie MacLean’s Caledonia and Auld Lang Syne.

And yes, I got to see Kylie Minogue up close! In fact here’s a picture! If you missed it you can watch the whole show on BBC iPlayer for a few weeks.
