Excited to let folks know that I’ve made a new album – I am Disposed to Mirth! I originally set out to record Simon Thoumire’s ace fiddle duet with Jack Smedley and then it just grew arms and legs – in a good way!

So, I am Disposed to Mirth, aka The Fiddle Music of Simon Thoumire consists of a fair amount of solo fiddle tracks (incl. viola) but it also features the following amazing musicians – Jack Smedley, Seonaid Aitken, Kristan Harvey, Alice Allen and David Bowden!

Design is by the amazing, Somhairle Macdonald and I’ve just launched pre-orders over on Bandcamp, which offers a sneak preview of the fiddle duet when you order.

The official release date is 5th December 2025 but I’ll have copies available at Scots Fiddle Festival this weekend, after my shows with Alice Allen and Strathspey and Surreal.

It won’t be appearing on Spotify ever and I’m in the process of taking the rest of my music down from the worst paying streaming platform out there!
